The Alpine Township Planning Commission

The Planning Commission is responsible for the development of the Master Plan and the Zoning Ordinance. It conducts public hearings and gives recommendations to the Township Board on Planned Unit Developments and rezoning requests and amendments to the Zoning Ordinance. It is solely responsible for decisions on site plans and special land use requests. The Planning Commission, or sub-committee of that body, reviews site plans for all commercial and industrial buildings or additions.

The Planning Commission is involved in the approval of plats, condominiums, site condominiums, public streets, public parks and public buidings. They also review and approve fill projects and mining operations.

The Planning Commission meets on the third Thursday of each month, with sub-committee or special meetings held on-demand.

Planning Commissioners are appointed by the Supervisor, with the Township Board's approval.
