PARKS & RECREATION
The park's and recreational activities are currently coordinated by the Township's Supervisor and supported by the Parks and Recreation Committee. Day-to-day oversight of the parks and employees is the responsibility of the Township officials.
The Sports Complex, at the corner of Baumhoff and Alpine Church Rd., offers playground equipment, a walking track, three softball/baseball fields, and four soccer fields. Field use should be secured with a permit that can be obtained during regular business hours at the Township Offices.
Currently soccer fields remain available Mondays –Saturdays, and Softball/Baseball Fields Fridays-Sundays. Call 784-1262 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org for availability and reservations.
Wahlfield County Park - For Reservations, please call (616) 632-7275
Wahlfield County Park at the corner of 8 Mile Road and Alpine Avenue (6811 Alpine Ave.) includes natural trails for walking, running, cross country skiing and mountain biking, along with a large picnic shelter, a large playground and rest rooms. A map of the 274-acre park is attached here.

Located near between Comstock Park Post Office and Library at Lamoreaux and West River Drives, Dwight Lydell County Park spans the border of Alpine and Plainfield Townships. The park offers paved trails, picnic shelters, a ball diamond and playground. Although fishing is not allowed, viewing nature located in the ponds and adjacent Mill Creek is a favorite pastime. Westgate Neighborhood Park
Westgate Neighborhood Park on Westshire Drive is a 7.5-acre site that includes playground equipment, tennis courts, a pickle ball court, a basketball hoop and restrooms. The park saw major renovations in 2014.
Parks & Recreation Committee
The Parks & Recreation Committee meets the third Tuesday of every month at 7:00 P.M. at the Township offices at 5255 Alpine N.W. The venue is changed occasionally to one of the complexes.
